Night Portrait
2016 – A2 (420mm x 594mm), greylead and acrylic
Look to the sky
As she opens up on me…
– Big Scary, ‘Winter’
I wanted to personify the night-sky as a girl, where her face acts as a window into a mysterious, starry night.
This piece was submitted to the STAEDTLER Yen Female Art Awards 2016.

Synesthete
2015 – A1 (594mm x 841mm)
Coloured pencil, watercolour,
acrylic and fineliner
This piece was selected to feature in the
“Sound” issue for online literary and
arts magazine, ‘Synaesthesia Magazine’.
Most of my work is inspired by song lyrics, so this time I wanted to actually illustrate synaesthesia and what it means to me. When I listen to music, I see colours in my mind, and my opinion on whether or not I like a song depends on the colours and shapes it evokes.

She (The Ocean)
2015 – A3 (297mm x 420mm)
Coloured pencil and watercolour
Inspired by lyrics to Ben Abraham’s ‘She’ –
I do not own the rights to this song.
She is a window and she is an arrow
She is a line in the sand
She is the ocean, that breathless commotion
That carries you far from dry land
– Ben Abraham, ‘She’
